You know there is a slight difference between me and you. You have one country-  I love more than two.   I like  salsa  music where my hips swing and ohh my my my do I love  swing with all the twirls and girls flipping We enjoy a  roasted turkey  to remember and honor yet I can't wait another month till tamales de navidad  are the main course of our dinner My  Quince  dress with its adorable twinkling sheen is right next to the dress worn to my friend's  sweet sixteen .   I melt at  green eyes , yes they come in close combat... but   nothing  can beat me some  dark chocolate  ;) I will rep RED WHITE and BLUE except for every four years when yelling  GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!! is all that i can do!   When MJ died,  ohh rest his soul,   it was just as sad as when Selena left us back when I was five years old Beans and rice are kind of my thing for work-  for home-  pretty much everything I enjoy it just as much as IH

General Conference Outside of SLC

Image
Just hit me that this General Conference Session coming up in April will be the first one I watch without those dearest to me.  Ever.   Just hit me that even though I'll be missing them like no other,  I'm eternally grateful for technology and that I can still listen to the word of my Heavenly Father here in China. I love Conference Weekend!  Where we walk around Temple Square and just bask in the beauty that is this world and our Heavenly Father's influence in it all.  Temple Square-  its like a fashion show of modest clothing.  Its a time where members from all over gather and share one heart,  one mind,  one love for the Gospel and the Prophets that teach us. To be at home and sit on the couch with my brothers and sisters,  listening to the leaders of our Church while in our pajamas:)   To take notes of the directions and impressions of my heart as I listen to those speaking,  but hearing the word of God and His love for us.   To eat the delicious meals in betw

silly me

Decided I'm going to start blogging again.  Nothing really stopped me from doing so,  I just haven't . So here we go... You know how i'm sort of forgetful?  Well yesterday I locked myself out of my apartment!  Ahhh...  No big deal,  I just went upstairs to work and got the spare key to let myself back in.  Problem solved. After class however...  I went back home,  got ready for a night out,  left my apartment,  arrived at the pool hall and guess what???  Yeah,  I remembered that I left both the spare key aaaaaaaaand my key in my apartment!  Big deal?  A very big deal. So I got on with the night and after a few embarrassing calls along the lines of "Hi boss,  I'm irresponsible!"  determined that figuring it out in the morning would have to be the way to go.  gahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...  hakuna matata and had a good time dancing anyways:) Spent the night at the Lovely Gema's apartment:)  After a bowl of cereal and hours of girl talk before bed I was remind

ZhuZhou at night:)

Walking about my city at night:) Came across this old man writing chinese characters on the sidewalk.  Oddly enough,  I feel safe walking around the city-  people watch me as I wander around,  taking pictures of this thing and that. It was definitively one of those "Wow!  I live in China!"  moments:) I'll post more videos of my night time adventures! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeLqFUABtRY&feature=g-upl&context=G2dd644dAUAAAAAAAAAA

Chinese New Year:)

Image
Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival. Everyone gets time off work and travels to their hometowns to visit family, but considering my family is thousands of miles away, I pretty much went on vacation after only being in China for a little over a month:) Sweet! We made a last minute decision to travel as far down south as possible- to try and get away from the biting cold that is ZhuZhou. How I miss seeing blue skys and gorgeous sunsets! All I see around me is grey... grey buildings... grey sky... grey smoke from the dude smoking next to me... grey! Sunny Sanya, Hainan was our destination and I could hardly wait to shed the layers and layers and layers of clothing needed to stay warm (indoors and outdoors) in ZhuZhou:) These two blokes were my travel buddies! We'll call them England #1 and England #2 for the time being shall we?;) We all teach at the same tutoring school and had less than half of the vacation time as the other teachers

Worthy To Stand

Image
Even though I love my family, I love my friends I honestly can't wait for it all to end:) When I will walk by His side again, He will ask me questions then. Did you work hard? I did, I know. Did you love harder? I did, I do. Did you play? Every single day. Did you face your trials? I did not run away Daughter of mine, are you worthy to stand? I am, I am. Come then child, and take my hand. One day,  One sweet day it will all be worth it. Every tear, every heartache. I hope until then- I remain worthy to stand Diana Linay Lopez Ruano
